If you would like to apply to have your dog taken into our rescue, please click the Owner Surrender Form button above. Fill out the application as honestly and completely as you can. The information you provide will be reviewed so we can determine if we are able to help. There are no right or wrong answers; your responses will simply help us fully understand the situation.
Please note that we are a foster based rescue that is most often at full capacity and our fosters will not take a large dog. As such, we may be unable to assist you. That said, there are some instances where we can take in an owner surrender. We will review your application as soon as reasonably possible. If we determine that we are not able to help, we will let you know right away. If we feel we might be able to help, we will contact you to schedule a time to meet your dog and review the dog’s medical records. We don’t approve any owner surrender applications prior to meeting the dog.
We do not take in stray animals who have not gone through the legal stray hold. The best thing to do with an animal you find is to take it to your county shelter – that gives the dog the best chance at being reunited with its owner. Social media posts on Nextdoor and Facebook’s lost and found pet pages will also help to reunite a dog with its owner. If you apply to surrender an animal to AMI Pup Rescue, you will be required to sign a document stating that you have the legal right to do so.
